A swarm of dragonflies startled beachgoers at Misquamicut State Beach in Rhode Island recently. Thousands of these relatively large and beautifully colored insects descended upon the beach, surprising visitors. Videos captured beachgoers running for cover and hiding under blankets as the dragonflies buzzed around. It remains unclear what prompted this unique cloud of insects to visit the beach for several minutes before largely disappearing. Fascinating, isn’t it? 🐉🏖️🦟
